Mark Morissette is an experienced teacher and trainer in family systems therapy. His 25 years of clinical practice in the field gives this training fresh insight into the complexity of the family and the creativity that informs family systems therapy.

Practicing Systems In Clinical Context

A set of half-day training sessions in
family systems theory & practice

Facets of the System
A sound basis in systems thinking provides a broad perspective for understanding and for involving ourselves in the world of practice. This series looks at family systems therapy from several distinct vantage points contributing to an integrated approach to clinical practice.

Implications for Practice
These seminars will together address the different ways that systemic ideas help guide the complex work of therapeutic practice by exploring a range of special topics relating to clinical practice and addressing the implications of working with clients from a systemic model.

Experience the Learning
Training participants will explore a number of basic systems ideas underlying the foundation of family therapy and offer a chance to experience the impact of this work in the context of their own practices through a use of clinical case examples, literature sources and film clips.

THE EVOLUTION OF THERAPY
Mastering the process of developing a therapeutic frame of mind.

Learn how to embrace the opportunity to revisit one’s thinking about the possibilities of family.

SESSION 4 - May 2008
THE SELF OF THE THERAPIST
Finding the middle way in the emotional work of being a therapist.

Learn the art of navigating the emotional life journey through one’s therapy and one’s family.
