Accredited in 1998 as a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counsellor (ICADC) with the Canadian Addiction Counsellors Certification Federation (CACCF) and the International Certification & Reciprocity Consortium (IC&RC/AODA) - she holds the most highly recognized certification in the field in 13 countries and 41 states.

Specializing in "The Process of Change", Sharon’s simple approach embodies genuine compassion, empathy and respect. She models truth, purpose, meaning and common sense as foundations for the exciting and uncomfortable journey of recovery. With valuable insight acquired through personal experience, she is deeply committed to helping clients understand and overcome the toxic effects of substance misuse or abuse.

Her philosophy is based on the belief that life is sacred, that human processes are universal and that all people possess the internal resources required to live fully. Her vision is two-fold: to see hope, joy and dignity restored in the lives of those affected by substance abuse (or related self destructive behaviors) and to assist individuals - beyond mere survival - to discover their full potential and divine purpose.

Certified as a Laughter Leader in 2006 with the World Laughter Tour, Sharon enriches her practice with the universal language of laughter, humor, mirth and creativity. She refuels on weekends with the North Vancouver Crunchy Frog Improv Collective.

Sharon works with individuals, couples, families and groups and offers a variety of services, including Counselling, Continuing Care (transition from treatment), Relapse Prevention, Educational Workshops, Assessment, Referral, Spiritual Transformation and Consultation.
